Flower Petals
Sun fingered the white roses in her garden. Pulling one up to her nose she sniffed it and lay it gently back down. Sun was a fourteen year old girl who hadlong waving green hair. Her skin was darkly tanned and symbols of ancient scriptures writen in the ancient writing covered her right arm, part of her back, and a small symbol was tattooed beneath her right eye on her cheek.
Her eyes were bright green and changed their brightness with her mood. Small green clear wings grew from her back, but since she was a light weighted elf, she could easily carry her high into the sky. Sun wore a baby blue halter top and a short jeans skirt. Long leather boots of light brown came to her knees and tied all up her leg. She wore leather finger gloves and had a bow and arrow tied securly to her back.
Sun reached for a small knife from the belt buckled tightly around her waist and cut one of the rose just below its flower. She put it behind her ear and fixed it so her hair covered it lightly. "Sun? Sun dear! Time to go!" Amika was Sun's parent's maid. Both her parents were killed in the War of the Roses, so Amika was their only guardian. "Coming MiLady." Sun arose from her crouched posotion and walked along the garden gate. she trailed her right hand which was covered in symbol tatooes and brushed all the flowers leaning out of their prison.
Amika caught a hold of her shoulder and brushed off Sun's clothes. "We're headed to the market. I'm gonna take that brother of yours to see his girl friend down yonder of the docks, and leave Kuyuke here. He can watch his self, he by golly fifteen! Well, we wanted to know weather you wanna come on down with us or stay with 'im." Amika said, fixing her own floral dress, and straightening her collar. "I wish to go with you. The docks, unlike here, are more interesting."
Amika sighed. "All right child. But ya gotta stay outta the watter. Ain't good fer an elf te swim in there." Sun closed her eyes. "Well, Amika, I'm hot! I wish to swim."
"No one taught you how child, so stay outta there!" Sun groaned. "Well, hurry up. I want to get away from here." Amika snorted and called Lane to her; Sun's older human brother. She and Kuyuke were elf, so was Amika, but for a strange reason Lane had turned out human. Which was odd because both parents were elf as well. "Hurry!" Sun began down the dirt road. "Well, you go on ahead if you are in such a hurry! But be back!" Amika called after her, and Sun just grinned. She flapped her wings and in a woosh they carried her up to the tree tops.Leaning foreward she flew down the street, already feeling the salty breeze of the ocean.
